What changed in La Liga for 2026/27

At the end of last season three clubs went down and three came up. If you have a list of logos which still have Mallorca, Girona or Real Oviedo as La Liga teams, it is a season behind.

It’s the story of Racing Santander. After 14 years away from the top flight, they are back in the top flight, so their crest hasn’t been seen on a La Liga logo list since 2012. It’s not a top-flight Spanish context that most collections have. Green and white stripes and one of the more recognisable badges in Spanish football to anybody who followed the league in the 2000s.

After a long time, Deportivo La Coruña come back. There’s a generation of players out there who know the blue and white stripes, and will be looking for the badge now that they’re back, as Depor won the league in 2000 and made it to a Champions League semi-final.

Málaga are the promoted three.

Out: Mallorca, Girona and Real Oviedo. If you would like to import their badges, they work perfectly fine as long as they are a working 512×512 URL, which Dream League Soccer will accept for any division. No longer La Liga clubs, they are.

The badges people actually search for

The majority of La Liga logos are in demand from Real Madrid and Barcelona. It isn’t close. If you construct a Spanish side in DLS, there is a good possibility that it is one of those two and that’s why they are at the top of the grid and not alphabetically.

It’s obvious that Atlético Madrid is third. From then, it tapers off with Sevilla, Valencia, Villarreal and Betis swapping roles as the season progresses.

The real-life application of this: If you’re rebuilding the same club each season, make a copy of its URL once and paste it into your notes app. Helps you not to have to look for this page again in March.

Spanish crests and how they hold up in-game

The majority of the badges given are general. These are all unique to La Liga crests, and are why some Spanish badges are better than others in DLS.

If you’re looking for fine gold detail, you’ll need the full resolution. The most obvious is Real Madrid’s crest. The crown is above an interlocking MCF monogram, both are thin line and have lots of internal shape. It is rendered cleanly at 512×512. This is the logo at 256×256, what you get from a lot of older lists of logos. The crown isn’t so well defined and the monogram becomes a blob of gold at 256×256. When a Real Madrid shirt looks a little bit off, and you can’t tell why, it’s probably because of this.

There are some crests that are higher than they are wide. The bat is perched on a shield, and the overall design is quite vertical, with Valencia’s name prominently displayed at the top. It’s correct that it is placed in the middle of a 512×512 square canvas with blank space above and below. Don’t use it to fill the frame. A small crest isn’t as noticeable as a stretched crest.

The crest is no longer visible when the match size is match size. The FCB letters are small on Barcelona’s badge and a wordmark is used on Athletic Club’s. Both are completely readable on the shirt and both change to a grey smudge in the match HUD next to the score. No, it’s the way it is rendered at that size, but it’s good to know before you think that something is wrong with the file.

The other half is Rayo Vallecano. Just a white field with a red diagonal stripe, and not much else. Reads flawlessly at all sizes of the game it is thrown at. If you are creating your own badge, and not a club crest, then you should model it after that one. The complete rules on the circle crop can be found on the main DLS logo page.

Matching kits

A shirt without a badge looks worse than a shirt with a badge on it. Each club page matches the 512×512 crest with this season’s home and away and third kit, which allows you to install all three in one go:
