Copy the official Real Madrid crest

This is the official club crest, the one on the actual club shirt, not a redrawn one. If this is what you are looking for, you’re finished. Below this is for those who want something in particular.

It’s a 512×512 PNG transparent background image. The 512×512 size requirement is due to the game’s design.

Every Real Madrid logo version, labelled

The majority of the logo pages will provide you with a pile of Real Madrid files without any explanation. 5 versions, no labels, no sign of which is official, and which was drawn last year. You choose one and you pray.

The difference to be made: official versus fan-made. They’re both imported the same way and the game doesn’t care which you use. However, if you’re thinking of making your team appear like the real Real Madrid, a fan redraw with added detail won’t help you achieve that goal and most logo websites won’t tell you which is which.

Does the Real Madrid badge have stars?

The short answer is: the official crest doesn’t.

Real Madrid’s European history is not on the club badge, but on the shirt. The crest itself, the interlocking MCF monogram, and the diagonal band (no stars anywhere in it).

If you see a DLS Real Madrid logo with stars above the crown then it’s a fan-made version. There are plenty of people who like it and it can be imported the same way. But it is not the official badge, so it’s good to know before you ask yourself why your team’s crest is not the same as you see on TV.

How the Real Madrid crest behaves in DLS

There are two points to know, which are at odds.

The circle is on your side. Dream League Soccer cuts out all of the badges you import into it in a circle. Real Madrid’s crest is already circular, so there’s no need for cutting. What you paste in is what will be seen on the kit; no cutting corners, no lost edges. This is compared to Valencia’s bat crest that is above the shield and makes the entire badge tall on a square canvas.

The downfall is the fine detail. The gold crown and the interlocking MCF are constructed from thin lines and a lot of internal shape. At a true 512×512 they hold up. Below, the crown becomes indistinct and the monogram becomes a blob of gold.

This is the one thing more often than not causes a Real Madrid badge to look a little bit out of place without the player being able to tell you why. It’s not about the game, it’s not about the crop. The source file was less than 512×512 in size and was stretched.

The diagonal band is the exception — it’s wide and dark, so it will endure no matter how big or small. That is why it is possible to see an undersized Real Madrid crest from afar and still recognize it as Real Madrid, but look closer and you know it’s wrong. The remaining rules for the general crop and padding are covered.

Retro Real Madrid crests

The badge has evolved more than many people realise and there are a couple of older versions that are good to have if you are building a classic side.

1902–1908. An interlocking dark blue and white with the letters of Madrid Club de Fútbol. No circle, no crown, only the letters.

In 1908 the monogram was placed in a circle, surrounded by a dark blue band. This is where the shape that you recognize today originated.

1920: The club was granted royal patronage by King Alfonso XIII and the “Real” was added to the name and the crown to the badge.

1931–1941. The Spanish monarchy was abolished and the crown came off. The club returned to the club of Madrid Club de Fútbol for 10 years.

1941 onward. The crown was restored and the diagonal band added, and the crest was restored to its modern shape.

Old crests are imported as is for current crests. Dream League Soccer’s opinion on the decade it came from is non-existent, it just takes any 512×512 URL.

Real Madrid kits to match

A crest on the incorrect shirt cancels it out and this is a club where people generally want both. The Real Madrid DLS kits page has current home, away, third and goalkeeper kits.

Retro badges go with retro kits, and one of the pages that is currently on the top of the list for this badge is centred around the 2007/08 Real Madrid kit set, with fans commenting in the reader comments asking for the other seasons.

FAQ

What size does the DLS Real Madrid logo need to be?

The image is 512×512 pixels in PNG format with a transparent background. The smaller the size the more blurry it becomes, and on this crest the crown is the first to fall.

What is the official Real Madrid crest?

The first one in the top card of this page. All of the variants in the grid have labels so you can easily distinguish between the official variants and the fan-made ones.

Are there stars on the Real Madrid logo?

Not the official one, but the other. The versions that have stars above the crown have been fan-made. They work fine in-game, they’re just not the club badge.

Is it possible to use an old Real Madrid logo in DLS 26?

Yes. The game will accept any working 512×512 URL, whether it’s an old or new design. The crests above are also retro, and are the same as the current one.

Why is my Real Madrid logo blurry?

The source file is less than 512×512, and the game is pushing it. It will be the first thing you see on this badge. Use the link in this page.

Where are the matching kits?

On Real Madrid kits page of LOGODLS.COM

Grab the official crest, or pick a version deliberately. Every file here is labelled, so you’re choosing rather than guessing — which is more than you can say for a stack of seven unlabelled Real Madrid files.
